Things To Do

What is a River House Church?

The River is a network of house churches in the Kansas City metro area. We own a campus in Raytown, MO. The campus serves as a training center and provides us a place to gather for weekly large group worship meetings.

River House Churches are gatherings of 8 to 15 people who are in pursuit of God in a company of friends. A House Church meets weekly. Each House Church has a Pastor who helps coordinate prayer, bible study and fellowship among the group. It's a place where we can share our lives with each other and build life-long Jesus centered friendships.
A House Church Pastor understands that people are not perfect. No one has a perfect life. It's OK to make mistakes in life. Because God loves us in the condition we are in we choose to love each other the same way.

The River's network of house churches serve our communities with outrageous acts of Kingdom kindness and love.

Why Should I Attend a House Church?

It is difficult to achieve meaningful friendships in a large group setting. Significant relationships occur best in the context of a small group.

Tremendous personal benefits come from being part of a House Church. House Churches are a great place where we get to know one another on a personal basis. Being part of a House Church is the difference between just attending church and seeing the River as your church family. House Churches are a safe place where we can learn and walk out living together as God's family.

River House Churches are:

  • A place where each of us can connect and develop a sense of belonging
  • A place for us to discover Jesus
  • A place to serve each other on a personal level
  • A place to pray for and care for one another
