welcome
Welcome to the River Church Family! Below you’ll find answers to some frequently asked questions newcomers might have about RCF which we hope you’ll find helpful. We’re so glad you’ve “stopped by” and we look forward to connecting with you.
1. Where and when do you meet?
Our Raytown Campus and our Online Campus meet Sundays @ 10 AM.
Our Raytown Address is: 6400 Woodson Road, Raytown, MO 64133
Our Online Campus can be accessed by clicking here
2. What about the Spanish speaking church that meets in your facility?
In February of 2017 we connected with a local Spanish church that was looking for a building to continue their meetings. During those first few months, as we got to know Pastor Carlos, his family and their staff and our hearts were quickly knit together and we felt a new family was forming between us. Within a short time, their church, Puerta Del Reino, began meeting in our building on Sunday evenings at 6 PM and we’re so glad to have them! To learn more, about Puerta Del Reino, you can contact Pastor Carlos at 816-349-9072 or puertadelreino@gmail.com.
4. How can I stay informed about events at your church?
You can sign-up for our weekly eNewsletter by emailing info@rivercentral.org and let us know you’d like to be added. Or, you can write “please add me to your newsletter” on the events slot of the I Am Here card in the bulletin on Sunday mornings (be sure to include your email address). And lastly, connecting with us on facebook is another way to get the latest info about events and see our church family photos which are posted there regularly.
5. What is a typical service like?
Our Sunday morning services typically include, teaching, singing, time for discussion, ministry and prayer. However, each Sunday might vary in what takes place and how long we spend on each portion.
6. What should I wear?
Some people wear jeans and t-shirts while others wear dress slacks or dresses. It’s whatever is comfortable for you.
7. What about my children?
On Sunday mornings. we have Kid’s Church for children ages 0-12 which meet during the same time as the adult service. We also offer a Wednesday night discipleship program during the school year. Stop by the Children’s Church area located near the front entrance to learn more about our programs. To learn more, visit our NextGen Ministries Page.
8. Do you have a youth program?
Yes, we have a youth programs for middle school and high school that meet during the week. To learn more, visit our NextGen Ministries Page.
9. What about communion and other spiritual practices?
Communion is a spiritual practice with many purposes and is available to all followers of Jesus.
Celebrating the Lord’s Supper (Communion) is an important and powerful time of remembering what Jesus did for us on Calvary and then following the instructions act of Jesus who said, “Do this in remembrance of me”…”For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. (I Corinthians 11:24, 26 NIV).
The bread and cup of grape juice themselves are only a token that we use to honor and remember His death until He comes. It is, then, a statement of faith…you proclaim the Lord’s death until He returns.
There are two communion stations in the sanctuary near the windows. Feel free to partake before or during worship on Sundays. We have corporate communion a few times a year on Sundays too.

10. Do I have to give money?
There’s no charge to be apart of our services. Giving money to God’s work here on the earth is one of many ways we worship him and give him Lordship over our lives. Tithing (giving at least 10% of our income) is a biblical teaching that we encourage each person to explore for themselves because scripture tells us that God loves a “cheerful giver” not someone who gives because they feel they “have to” (2 Corinthians 9:6-15).
11. Do I have to be a member?
It is not a requirement to become a church member in order to be apart of our fellowship, small groups or even to volunteer. We welcome you and are glad to have you with us. However, if you at anytime you would like to learn more about what it means to partner with us as a member, please visit our Ramping into the River webpage to begin the process.
12. What do you believe and what kind of a Church is The River Church Family?
The River Church Family is a part of the Foursquare family of churches. What does “foursquare” mean? The simplest explanation can be found in the Foursquare Logo. The four symbols perhaps most identified with Foursquare today are the cross, cup, dove and crown which stand for Jesus the Savior, Jesus the Healer, Jesus the Baptizer with the Holy Spirit, and Jesus the Soon-Coming King, respectively.
